El turrón es una masa dulce obtenida por cocción de miel, azúcares y clara de huevo, incorporando almendra pelada y tostada, y posteriormente amasada, a la que tradicionalmente se le da forma de tableta rectangular o torta.
El término turrón se refiere concretamente a la repostería tradicional de Jijona, en Alicante, Comunidad Valenciana, España. En Iberoamérica la elaboración del turrón es algo distinta pero tienen parecido el sabor y el aspecto.
En Italia y en Dinamarca el turrón existe también, con los nombres de torrone y fransk nougat respectivamente. En los países árabes e Israel existe también un dulce muy similar y quizá emparentado: la jalva o turrón de sésamo, hecho con sésamo molido, miel, y a veces fruta o pistacho
