Remember SK.Sweet hitting level 50 first before anyone else in the world? Did you know what he got for doing that? Nope? Well neither do we, but Blizzard has proven to be pretty active of late with resetting their ladder and have posted some goodies for those of you who manage to hit top 32 in the ladder on any realm.
On September 30, 2004 at 11:59 pm UTC, the thirty-two (32) top qualified "Solo" ladder players for each Gateway who have achieved the most experience in ladder play since the inception of the Contest will be chosen to participate in a separate "single elimination" tournament to determine the top four players for each Gateway. Thereafter, the players will compete in a "best 2 out 3 games" format to determine the "Solo Gateway Champion." Thereafter, the Solo Gateway Champions will compete in a separate tournament utilizing a "best 3 out of 5 games" format to determine the "Battle.net Worldwide Solo Champion." In the Solo Gateway Championship and Battle.net Worldwide Solo Championship tournaments, opponents will be assigned on a random basis. Solo Championship participants will be notified via email of their eligibility to compete in the tournament within four weeks of the ladder season's completion.
A thing i found interesting is the Battle.net Champion takes home a neat $1000 and also in addition to some great prizes, there are actually loads of stuff to be won in both Solo and in 2 v 2 fights and you can read about the whole deal here. Thank you Blizzard and let the games begin!
