Re: 2 hand vs one hand

Subi el hit rating...subi el expertice...melee special hit cap (5%) and expertise dodge-cap (26 expertise) is good to aim for
So not having to worry about parries, what weapon combination should we tank with?
Many death knights – and players in general – fell for the myth that tanking weapons would be the way to go. However,Blizzard has clearly stated that death knights are meant to tank with DPS weapons, that’s one of the reasons there is no two-handed tank weapon in the game. Granted, two-handers and one-handers are different, since one-handed tanking weapons are sought after by multiple classes, unlike two-handed ones would be, but the basic idea remains.
There are multiple reasons tanking weapons are inferior for Death Knights: threat, stats, usefulness.
Threat
Our highest threat generating abilities (Rune Strike, Obliterate, Frost Strike and white attacks) scale with weapon damage: the slower the weapon, the higher the damage, the higher the threat. Most fast/fast advocates assume that doing more rune strikes will offset the threat loss from other abilities. They’re wrong.
Lets compare two weapons: Bloodvenom Blade and Last Word. Lets assume a five-minute tank & spank fight and that every second main hand attack can be converted to rune strike, which is a very generous scenario. With the slow weapon, we would do about 57 rune strikes, for an average of 883 each (without AP modifier), resulting in slightly over 50k damage done with the main hand. With the fast weapon we would do 83 rune strikes, for an average of 612 each (without AP modifier), resulting in slightly over 50k damage with the main hand, roughly 500 more damage than with a slow weapon.
Now, 500 damage is not going to offset the tremendous threat lost on the rest of the strikes. Not by far. And once you factor in AP and crit, it’s more than likely that slow weapons will out-do fast ones even on rune strike
