I've been doing some reading on DK pet scaling and what I read seems to contradict the current scaling system TC uses.
Source:
Pet Discussion - (Garg, AotD, Ghoul) - Elitist Jerks
http://www.mmo-champion.com/threads/...=1#post6180794
Currently, TC scales Ghoul Attack Power as
GhoulAP = (GhoulSTR * 2) + (PlayerAP * 0.22) - 20
From the reading above, it should be:
GhoulAP = GhoulSTR - GhoulBaseSTR + BaseAP + Agi.from.buffs
Can someone confirm whether I'm reading this wrong? Many retail forums have said Ghouls don't scale from the DK's AP.

I'd trust the Elitistjerks more than others because I believe a few of the Blizzard Blues are or were members of that guild. Anyway, it looks like your formula is a little off, the two threads you posted don't include agility.
Ghoul Ap = Strength - Base_Str + Base_AP
Also, the two formulas indicate that the pet is not recieving AP directly from the DK but rather from the scaling provided by STR. You apply STR scaling from the DK which modifies the "Strength" (in bold below) attribute in the calculation for AP.
Ghoul Str = (DKStr * (.7 * RavDead))
Ghoul Ap = Strength - Base_Str + Base_AP
So as you see, AP does not benefit directly from the DK's AP but rather indirectly through the DK's STR scaling.
Keep in mind too that the scaling system in TC needs to move to auras. Right now it's just kinda stitched together.

Thanks for the response.
The MMO champion post does discuss Agility, specifically:
"agi of the dk does not benefit ghoul, agi buffs benefit ghoul 1 agi -> 1 ap". I don't know if it is correct but that post was made during the 3.x era from testing on a PTR. The only buffs that would work for this are GBoK, MotW, HoW/totem, which works out to be ~300AP at best.
Basically the current system has the scaling too high since the AP of the DK is buffing the pet in addition to strength and strength is giving 2AP per point to the pet instead of 1AP.

Like all class pets, ghouls' base stats scale with their level.
Ghouls receive 70% of their master's strength untalented and 112% of their master's strength fully talented with 3/3 Ravenous Dead. A Glyph of the Ghoul causes ghouls to inherit an additional 40% of their master's strength, for a maximum strength inheritance of 152%.
Ghouls receive 2 attack power per point of strength over 10.
Ghouls receive 30% of their master's stamina untalented and 48% of their master's stamina fully talented with 3/3 Ravenous Dead. A Glyph of the Ghoul causes ghouls to inherit an additional 40% of their master's stamina, for a maximum stamina inheritance of 88%.
Ghouls do not receive any health from their base stamina, and receive 10 points of health for each additional point of stamina.
Ghouls receive 40% of their master's resilience rating.
Claw deals 150% of a ghoul's AP-modified "weapon" damage.
Gnaw deals 12% of a ghoul's AP-modified "weapon" damage.
Ghouls gain hit chance and expertise based on their master's hit chance, according to the patch 3.2.0 "If a player is at their appropriate spell hit chance or hit chance maximum, their pet will be at the maximum for spell hit chance, hit chance, and expertise. If they are below the maximum, their pet will be proportionately below those maximums."
Ghouls do not inherit any armor.
Ghouls receive 100% of their master's haste.
