* LOST Season 4 will contain 16 episodes and will air from February to May 2008. Production will begin in mid-August and will be completed in March, which means roughly 11-13 episodes will be completed by the time the show airs.
* Season 4 will feature both flashbacks and flash-forwards.
* There will be a larger number of flash-forward episodes.
* We won't know when the flash-forwards take place.
* Getting off the island is not the end. The flash-forward scene with Jack and Kate is not the end.
* There's another entire chapter of the show to be told off the island.
* The flash-forwards will be shot in Los Angeles.

* Jack and Claire will find out they are siblings.
* There's a great deal left to be told about the relationship between Sawyer and Kate.
* Desmond will have to deal with the after-effects and the guilt of Charlie's death. He will question whether or not Charlie would have made this sacrifice, had he not told him that was what he was going to do. He will question the role he played in Charlie's death.
* Penny is an important character to the overarching mythology of the show.
* Claire's psychic and his visions for Claire and her baby's future will be revisited.
* Rose and Bernard have an awesome storyline coming up.
* Libby’s story is going to be a mystery that'll get answered. There's one significant missing piece to her story. We'll find out how she got from A to B - from Desmond to the mental institution. The only way to tell her story is through another character's flashback, who is not among the beach dwellers.
* Libby's absence was not intentional.
* They intend to have a flashback and tell Libby's story. They also hinted that she may have ties to the Dharma Initiative.
* We'll get back to the Michael & Walt story.
* The producers didn't say how or when Michael will be coming back, except that it wouldn't just be in a flashback.
* Michael will probably have a redemptive story.
* The growth of Walt will be addressed.
* The Others' obsession with children and pregnancy goes beyond the inability to successfully bear children on the island. The Others targeted Walt because they are interested in children with special abilities. This will be explored in the future episodes.
* What's coming to the island is worse than the Others.
* The Others are in danger of extinction. The days of the Others as a culture is numbered. But Ben's days aren't because he is a great one for making adjustments. He knows enough things and has access to enough information which will help him keep his head above water.
* There are two factions of the Others and are in no relation to the hatches/stations.
* We'll find out more about Jacob.
* The four toed statue is very important and will be addressed.
* The monster's origin, everything, will be answered definitively at some point.
* Cerberus is a name for the monster, but it has several names it goes by. We will find out who made it and its intentions, but the answer we get might not be what we would think of as an answer.
* The temple is a safe place. It's a landmark that predates everyone. It may be the beginning of some huge reveal - the history of the island.
* Ben was accidentally caught by Danielle's trap in season 2. He was en route to something. They did not say where, for what and why, but we will find out later next season.
* We've only had the tip of the iceberg on Ben's back story and that's going to get fleshed out a lot. We are going to learn a lot more of the dimensions of what that old rivalry was between the hostiles and the Others.
* Ben was not the only member of DHARMA who joined the Others.
* We'll find out what happened to Annie in a Ben flashback.
* We'll see how Marvin Candle lost his arm.
* They intend on telling the Rousseau's story in a flashback, and we'll see it either this season or next season.
* Danielle's flashback will be about her wrecked research vessel. In it, we'll see how Montand lost his arm.
* Danielle may pop up in another character's flashback.
* We will get around to Neil Frogurt.
Casting News
* NEW! Two new characters will appear in episode 2, possibly extending the rest of the season [and perhaps season 5]. Russell, a brilliant mathematician in his late 30's, and Charlotte, an attractive, athletic academic. [Names may change]
* Harold Perrineau (Michael) will return early in the season as a series regular.
* Malcolm David Kelley (Walt) will also return.
* Nestor Carbonell (Richard Alpert) has slim chances of being seen much at all next season.

* Only one new actor will enter in the fixed cast and the actor currently being sought for this role is Peter Stormare.
* The producers have invited the actor Forest Whitaker to participate in two episodes at the start of the season.
